Pakistan came into being on 14th August 1947, under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. It was the second state after Medina to be created in the name of Islam. Pakistan was created to be a welfare Islamic state. It was the dream of one of the greatest Muslim thinkers, philosophers, and poets Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Quaid-e-Azam worked day and night to bring this dream into reality.
Sadly, Mr Jinnah just lived for one year as Governor-General of Pakistan. After his death, Pakistan came into the hands of the power-thirsty people. These people destroyed Pakistan socially, politically and economically.
Though, Pakistan did get some stability during the government of Field Marshall Ayub Khan, although he was a dictator he gave the Industrial Revolution in Pakistan.

But after his resignation in 1969, Pakistan again fell into the hands of corrupt power-thirsty people. They were the biggest reason for the separation of East Pakistan into Bangladesh. When Bhutto came into power, he implemented the so-called socialism due to which the industries of Pakistan were destroyed.

After Bhutto came to the all-time cruel destroyer of Pakistan General Zia-ul-Haq. He brought in policies to destroy his political opponents and came out to be a cruel dictator. he brought in policies that were conservative and extremist. His policies got Pakistan into a big decline.
he gave political birth to corrupt politicians such as Nawaz Sharif, later prime minister of Pakistan thrice. Zia made him the Chief Minister of Punjab. After Zia died in 1988, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s daughter Benazir Bhutto became the first-ever female Prime Minister of an Islamic State. She was also incompetent in many ways. After her government was overthrown in 1993 by the President of the time Ghulam Ishaq Khan.
During the 1990s, Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif became prime ministers, one after the other until 1999 when Pakistan was once again under military control, and this time General Pervaiz Musharraf.
Both political parties, i.e Pakistan Peoples’ Party led by Benazir Bhutto and PML-Nawaz led by Nawaz Sharif were corrupt and they did a lot of money laundering and political victimization as well as corruption. they made their properties of millions and trillions outside Pakistan.
After Gen Musharraf came to power, he sent both the former prime ministers in exile. For 10 years these both corrupt leaders stayed out of Pakistan until they were given a general pardon under N.R.O ( National Reconciliation Ordinance) by Gen Musharraf.
Both party heads signed the CoD (Charter of Democracy). this meant they had a mutual understanding of dividing turns among them. And this did come into a reality that in 2008 PPP came into the government and for five years they ruled with so much cruelty that under Asif Ali Zardari, husband of Benazir Bhutto and president of Pakistan in 2008 did so much corruption that Pakistan was just on the brink of being bankrupt. After PPP, in 2013 Nawaz Sharif again became the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the third time during which continued with corruption and money laundering. He was dismissed from office in 2017 on charges of having a job permit in the UAE and that he was receiving money from a company while being the Prime Minister and he couldn’t prove his stance so he was sent packing. After a year-long case in the Accountability Court, he was convicted in 2 out of 3 cases in which he was sentenced to 10 and 7 years of imprisonment.
Amidst all this, a new leader emerged in Pakistan. He was the Former Cricket Captain of Team Pakistan. He joined politics in 1996 by creating his own political party known as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ( Pakistan Movement of Justice ). His complete agenda was anti-corruption against these mediocre type corrupt politicians. He struggled hard just for Pakistan. his struggle for 22 years, opening the mind of the Pakistani people led him to become the Prime Minister of Pakistan in the 2018 general polls. he brought in policies that are just for Pakistan. We all hope that he does well and help Pakistan get out of the socio-economic crisis.
Amidst all these years, Pakistan lacked behind each and everything, just because of one thing- CORRUPTION.
To sum up, Pakistan got decline due to the problem of corruption. For the first time ever, in the history of Pakistan, we have got a Prime Minister who is corruption-free and has an agenda to make Pakistan corruption-free. We hope that Pakistan comes out of the decline and rise.
Insha Allah, the day will come when Pakistan becomes developed.
Imran Khan, The current Prime Minister of Pakistan
