Education is one of the most important things in the world. Education can be of any type. Education enlightens people and brings them from the darkness towards the light. Without education, we can have nothing.
The whole world puts great emphasis on education. It is the right of every person to have an education. Even our religion gives a lot of heed to the importance of education. We have great institutes for educations all around the world.
Unfortunately, in Pakistan, there has been no much attention to education. In Pakistan, the governments had been there for their own gains and the country went backwards. Remember, a country that lacks educations lacks growth and development.
In Pakistan, about 22.8 million students don’t go to school. This is a very alarming situation that must be addressed in the top priorities of the government. This the reason that there are incompetency and an increase in the crime rate in Pakistan.
The other major setback in our country is the education apartheid or despair. There are three major classes of education. One class is the class from which I belong, which s English-medium and then an education which is based on the British-education system, i.e Cambridge O/A Levels. The other class with the Matriculation and F.Sc system. These are mainly private schools. About 38% of students go to private schools. The standard of these schools is very much better than in government schools. About 62% of students go to government schools, but the standard of this is very much low.
The Urdu medium schools are also not working well as the government is not paying much heed to it.
The third type of student goes to the Deeni Madaris (Religious Schools). They are just taught fundamentalism and conservative thoughts. They are not open-minded, enlightened with the world which is sadly left behind. It is a good incentive by our current government that they are going to pass a law providing worldly education as well as religious education to them so that they also become doctors and engineers and excel in the world.
The education apartheid in Pakistan is so intense that this must be the very first priority of the government.
The government must bring equality in the syllabus of the country so that all children get the same education and for free by the most qualified teachers.
This is the way we can get out of this crisis. if this goes on then Pakistan’s growth will be hindered.
For this, we all have to work with the government to tackle this situation. All students are equal so they must be given high-quality education with equality.
To sum up, Education is the most important thing to rise in the world.
As Nelson Mandela once said: “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.”
May this problem be solved as quick as possible, Ameen
